ABOUT US

The first Armenian producer of mushroom extracts

Mushroom Matters is a full-cycle mycology startup from Yerevan. We grow Lion's Mane, Reishi and Cordyceps ourselves, pull the active compounds out in two extraction passes, and bottle the result — all in one place. There are three of us, and we build the production in the open.

Mushrooms are everywhere, and easy to miss. They are inside and around you — and in everything you need to live — and have been for over a billion years. They eat stone, build soil, feed plants and hold ecosystems together. The more we learn about mushrooms, the less sense life makes without them.

Not magic. Just mycology.

The idea

Mushrooms are a bridge between science and nature. We make that bridge accessible to everyone.

What we stand on

Evidence

Science, not miracles. We explain what a mushroom can do, stick to what studies actually show — and say plainly what it cannot.

Full cycle

Every stage is ours: own cultures, own growing rooms, both extraction passes and bottling. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is repackaged.

Accessibility

Mycology is not a privilege of the few. One honest price per bottle, free guides, and plain language instead of biohacker jargon.

Education

We teach, not just sell. The Journal documents our own methods step by step, and the Telegram channel shows the build as it happens.

The visible cycle

"Full cycle" is easy to claim and hard to show. So we show it: every stage below is ours, and the key ones are written up step by step in the Journal — including the mistakes.

Clean culture

Every batch starts in a petri dish: a tissue clone of a strong specimen, grown out on agar until the culture is clean and vigorous.

Liquid mycelium

The culture is expanded in a liquid nutrient medium — the fastest way to a healthy, even inoculant.

Grain and substrate

For Reishi and Cordyceps, colonised grain is the stepping stone to fruiting blocks. Lion's Mane never touches grain: its extract is made from pure mycelium, so the usual "mycelium = starch filler" problem simply doesn't apply.

Fruiting

Reishi and Cordyceps grow to full fruiting bodies in controlled rooms, where humidity, temperature and air are ours to manage — independent of season.

Dual extraction and bottling

Hot water pulls out beta-glucans; ethanol pulls out triterpenes. We run both passes, combine them and evaporate the alcohol, then bottle and label here — 30 ml dropper bottles, nothing extra.

Honest expectations

The effect is cumulative, and we'd rather you know that before buying than after.

Days 1–7

Usually quiet. Some people notice early signals — vivid dreams are a common first marker.

Weeks 2–4

This is where most people feel the difference — at 1 ml daily, taken consistently.

The course

A bottle lasts about a month, so the honest unit is a two-bottle course: a month to get in, a month to consolidate. After you stop, the effect gradually fades — that's normal.

What mushrooms can't do

  • They don't treat or prevent illness and don't replace a doctor.
  • They don't work instead of sleep and routine — an amplifier, not a magic pill.
  • They don't act instantly and don't alter your state of mind: functional mushrooms, not psychoactive ones.

We say what mushrooms can't do. That's what trust is.

Why a liquid, and why alcohol-free

Drops are easy to dose precisely and adjust freely, and they carry nothing extra — no capsule shells, no fillers, no grain flour.

Alcohol is a tool, not an ingredient: it is needed to pull triterpenes during extraction and is evaporated afterwards. The finished extract contains none.

There are three of us

Business, science and growing — one of us for each. We are building the first Armenian mushroom-extract production and showing the process as it happens: the methods, the numbers, and the failures too.
